Alcatel-Lucent has reportedly been selected by United Arab Emirates-based operator, du, to deploy a 100G optical transport network.
The vendor will build the second phase in du’s deployment of a 100G network, which is expected to help the operator accommodate increasing data traffic.
Alcatel-Lucent has said that its 100G fiber optic technology will provide a capacity of up to 8.8-Tbps, and will feature technology that can extend the distances covered by 100G signals.
