The government has appointed Ram Sewak Sharma as the new chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for a period of three years. He succeeds Rahul Khullar who retired in May 2015.

Sharma is presently working as the secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology.
