Telenor appoints Marten Karlsen Sorby as chief executive officer, Uninor India
The Telenor Group has appointed Morten Karlsen Sorby as chief executive officer (CEO) of Uninor. He succeeds Sigve Brekke who served as interim CEO of Uninor since November 2013 following the resignation of Yogesh Malik.
Brekke will continue in his role as the executive vice-president and head of the Telenor Group’s Asia operations.
Sorby joined Telenor in 1993 and has been a member of the Group’s executive management team since 2003. Prior to assuming his new role at Uninor, he served as the Group’s executive vice-president in charge of corporate strategy and regulatory affairs. Morten was previously executive-vice president and head of Telenor’s Norwegian and Nordic mobile and fixed network operations.
