Qualcomm has appointed Steve Mollenkopf as chief executive officer. He will take over his new responsibilities beginning March 4, 2014 and in the meanwhile continue to serve as the company’s president.

Mollenkopf has been with Qualcomm for the last twenty years and has served in a number of senior roles. As chief executive officer, he will be responsible for leading Qualcomm’s 4G strategy and the company’s various functional groups.
