STel Limited has raised its offer (in November 2007), to pay the government a share of its prospective revenue from operations, from Rs 60 billion to Rs 137.52 billion. The sum, which is in addition to the existing spectrum charges, will be paid over a period of 10 years. The company is also willing to maintain a tariff ceiling of Re 0.30 per minute for calls made to mobile phones anywhere in the country for the next 10 years.
