Effective January 15, 2007, domestic telecom operators will have to pay service tax on international roaming services offered to those visiting the country (international in-bound roaming), as per the finance ministry.

Effective January 15, 2007, domestic telecom operators will have to pay service tax on international roaming services offered to those visiting the country (international in-bound roaming), as per the finance ministry. However, for those who have availed of the service prior to this date, the matter is still being examined by the Central Board of Excise and Customs.
