Vodafone India is planning to launch its 4G services in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) by end-December 2015. To this end, the operator has invested around Rs 3.5 billion to upgrade its existing voice and data network and has installed more than 550 additional base transceiver stations (BTSs) in Delhi and NCR.
Vodafone has stated that it will launch these services in the 1800 MHz band. Further, the testing of the 4G service in the region has commenced and the operator has partnered with leading global technology infrastructure service providers for the network rollout.
Earlier, the operator had announced that it will launch its 4G services in the Mumbai, Kerala, Karnataka and Kolkata circles by end-December 2015. It has already selected Huawei for the supply of BTSs and other equipment for the rollout of the 4G networks in the Karnataka and Kerala circles.
