Vodafone India expands telecom network in Bihar and Jharkhand

Vodafone India has invested about Rs 2.5 billion to expand its telecom network and distribution in Bihar and Jharkhand circle over the past twelve months.

Since April 2014, the operator has added more than 1,250 new telecom sites across the circle. Following the expansion of its network, Vodafone India now reaches out to customers in over 33,500 towns and villages in the circle. At present, the operator has over 8,700 2G sites in Bihar and Jharkhand circle covering over 79 per cent of the region’s population. The operator is also offering 3G services to its customers through intra circle roaming pacts, extending its coverage to additional 2,500 towns and villages.

In Bihar and Jharkand circle, data services accounts for 7 per cent of the operators’ total revenues. At present, Vodafone India has more than 415 retail outlets in Bihar and Jharkhand, including 6 Vodafone Stores, 121 Vodafone Mini Stores and 288 ADVMS (rural mini stores). Over the past 12 months, the operator has added 3 Vodafone Stores and 19 VMS in the region. In addition, the operator also has 3 Global Design Retail stores in the region.
