Bharti Tele Ventures Limited (BTVL) has announced a net profit of Rs 5.1 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. This represents a 70 per cent year-on-year growth in net profit. The company's consolidated revenue for the same quarter saw a growth of 48 per cent on a year-on-year basis to reach Rs 25 billion. Meanwhile, the public sector Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has reported a 26 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. It also saw a 9.2 per cent decline in its income from services, which stood at Rs 12.6 billion during the quarter under review.
