Huawei’s revenue up by 21 per cent to $46.5 billion in 2014
The telecom equipment maker Huawei has posted its financial results for the year 2014.
The company has reported that its revenue increased by 20.6 per cent to CNY 288.2 billion and net profit grew by 32.7 percent to CNY 27.9 billion in 2014. Further, for the period under consideration, Huawei’s carrier business group revenue increased by 16.4 per cent to CNY 192.1 billion with a strong contribution from mobile broadband network roll outs.
The vendor’s revenue from enterprise business group increased by 27.3 per cent and stood at CNY 19.4 billion in 2014. The revenues from Huawei’s enterprise business group were driven by strong growth in network and IT areas including cloud data centre solutions and agile networks.
Meanwhile, revenues from the consumer business group increased by 32.6 per cent to CNY 75.1 billion. The revenues were fuelled by growing demand for smartphones and strong growth in emerging markets.
In 2014, Huawei invested CNY 40.8 billion into research and development (R&D).
