The China-based telecom equipment provider Huawei has forecasted a compound annual growth rate of 10 per cent in sales over the next five years.

In 2012, the company registered sales revenues of CNY 220.19 billion and net profit of CNY 15.38 billion. Further, the company witnessed robust growth across all three of its business groups (BGs). The vendor’s Carrier Network BG posted sales revenue of CNY 160.1 billion in 2012, registering a year-on-year increase of 6.7 per cent. The Enterprise BG continued to grow in the Chinese market with sales revenue of CNY 11.5 billion registering a year-on-year increase of 25.8 per cent. Further, Huawei’s Consumer BG’s global sales revenue reached CNY 48.4 billion, registering as year-on-year increase of 8.4 per cent.

Also, encouraging growth experienced by the company in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) contributed record regional sales revenue of CNY 77.4 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 6.1 per cent. In the Asia Pacific region, the Americas and China – Huawei posted revenues of CNY 37.4 billion, CNY 31.8 billion and CNY 73.6 billion, respectively.

Further, in 2012 the company invested CNY 30.09 billion, of its total sales revenue of CNY 220.19 billion into research and development. Going forward, Huawei expects the information and technology industry to continue growing. The industry will be driven by new business opportunities emerging from cloud computing, bring your own device, and big data, and feature phones being replaced by smartphones.
