American Tower Corporation (ATC) India, has appointed Ashwani Kumar Khillan as chief operating officer (COO) of the company. He will be responsible for managing the overall operations for ATC India including, financial planning and strategic initiatives. Khillan will be taking over as COO from B Ramanand, who has served as COO with the telecom tower company for the past five years.

Khillan joins ATC India from Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited. In the past, he has also worked with companies such as Huawei, Ericsson, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications and Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited and has expertise in areas such as managed services, operations and network planning.

Commenting on the appointment of  Khillan as CEO, Amit Sharma, executive vice- president and president, Asia, ATC, said, “With the appointment of Khillan, ATC India is strengthening the company’s position in the market both strategically and operationally. His vast experience and expertise will support our company’s growth plans.”

On being appointed COO at ATC India, Khillan, said, “Working with the team at ATC is something I’ve been looking forward to. It’s with a great sense of anticipation and purpose that I’ve assumed office. My focus will be on devising a strategy in sync with the organisation’s vision of becoming a dominant player in this sector.”
